Historic Home HVAC Challenges
Riverside-Avondale contains four National Register Historic Districts. Homes built in the 1910s through 1940s were designed before central air conditioning existed. Retrofitting modern HVAC into these structures requires creative solutions: ductwork routed through limited attic space, closet-mounted air handlers where utility rooms don't exist, and ductless mini-split systems for additions or rooms where duct runs are impossible. Cool & Cozy understands that a visible condenser unit on the front porch of a 1925 Mediterranean Revival is not acceptable — equipment placement must respect the home's architectural character and any historic district guidelines.
